Rowers, of course, know us as one the greatest rowing nations in the world. Kiwi rowers are famous for their extreme work ethic, dedication to the sport, and also their great personalities. The New Zealand rowing system has a long history of nurturing the best rowers in the world, and the professionalism of our school and club coaches as well as regional performance centres guarantees a continuous flow of successful rowing athletes. For us at Laszlo Boats NZ it's about all of the above, while being innovative and creative, and winning the world over with our professional attitude, efficiency and a unique sense of humour.
Picturesque Lake Karapiro
Mighty River Domain is an iconic Waipa District site on the banks of Lake Karapiro, one of New Zealand's premier sporting event venues. Every year it showcases a variety of sporting and cultural events, it has been the stage for many memorable international sporting occasions, including the 1978 and 2010 World Rowing Championships. Every second year the lake hosts the New Zealand National Championships, and in alternate years the Aon Maadi Cup Regatta, the largest school sporting event in the Southern Hemisphere. The region is often dubbed the Home of Champions. This offers us plenty of opportunities to interact with some of the best rowers in the world on both personal and professional levels.
